WINTHROP/KINGFIELD – Lynn Roberts Reed, 64, passed away peacefully March 26th, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born September 21st, 1960 in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Terry and Janice (LaPrise) Roberts. Lynn was raised in Winthrop, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1978. She attended UMaine Augusta and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1984. Lynn married the love of her life, Steve, on July 4th, 1982; they built their own house on Maranacook Lake where they lived for almost 20 years.

WAYNE – Vincent “Vin/Vince” Brown Burns, a longtime resident of Wayne, completed his earthly journey on Feb. 17, 2025, at Maine Veterans Home of Augusta.

Vin was born to Vincent Anthony Burns, Esq. and dance instructor, Mary Corbett Burns, on Feb. 22, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts. He met the love of his life, Vinita Murray, at Boston’s Lenox Hotel during ballroom dance lessons when the two were teenagers. They married the day after Vin’s college graduation.

HALLOWELL – Joan Frances “Joanie” Sturmthal, 80, of Hallowell, Maine, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, following a series of illnesses. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1944, Joanie spent much of her youth traveling as her father taught economics at various universities, including overseas. She pursued higher education with dedication, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois after attending Oberlin College.
